N. Outlaw
studied Biology and Chemistry at Bowie State University, in Bowie,
MD. While there she had the prestigious honor of participating in the S.T.E.M.
Scholarship Program. As a part of the program she served as a research
assistant to Dr. Debra Rayfield and presented her abstract “Estrogen
Versus Phytoestrogen-Induced Changes in PC-12 Cell Viability Following An
Hypoxic/Ischemic Exposure-A Comparison Among 17-beta Estradiol, Genistein and
Daidzen” before the National Council on Undergraduate Research as well as
the Association of Southeastern Biologists. This work was also published by The
Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology Journal.

Dr. Outlaw
is a two-time graduate of Howard University’s College of Dentistry, having
completed both her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree and Advanced Education in
General Dentistry residency on-site. In this clinic, she had the opportunity to
work very closely with prosthodontic faculty with an urban patient base
comprised mostly of senior citizens, ESL immigrants, medically complex, full
mouth rehabilitation, and pediatric patients.
